as Alderman of the 20th Ward (Chicago, Illinois)
Family, Neighbors, and Friends,
On August 21st, I officially announced my candidacy to become the next Alderman of Chicago's 20th Ward. I am a hard worker, engaged neighbor, loving family member, proud mother, conscientious public servant, and great friend. I'm now asking for your support.
Like many of you, I love the Southside of Chicago. I was born and raised here. Its where I'm raising my family. I'm passionate about using my 20 years expertise, implementing neighborhood revitalization initiatives across the city, to the benefit of Chicagoans on the Southside.
I'm praying we become our "Brother's Keeper" again - standing together to eradicate violent crime in our neighborhoods, I want our families to access jobs & opportunities - right now. I'm longing for neighborhood schools with high academic achievement, giving our young people the necessary foundation to tackle college or pass apprenticeship exams or become national leaders. I'm dreaming of a not so distant future when our tree-lined blocks will once again be dominated by the daily sounds of children laughing & playing outside. I believe we all deserve this.
As part of my personal life for the last ten years, I've worked hard alongside our neighbors to improve the quality of life in our community. I've been a champion of grassroots efforts in Woodlawn that
enabled neighbors to know each other,
made our blocks safer, and
elevated the caliber of investment & development programs.
I'm committed to continue fighting for our mighty Southside families.
I hope for the opportunity to serve you as Alderman of the 20th Ward. I believe that all of our families and children deserve to experience the beauty & richness of a thriving Southside.
